MAMARONECK, N.Y. (October 4, 2012) – Thirty-one teams of women played under cloudy skies today at the 28th MGA/MetLife Women’s Net Team Championship at Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y. Cathy Moon and Bea Prokop of Casperkill Golf Club dominated the field, carding a net score of 9-under 62 and earning them the title. The ladies faced a challenging course setup, but were able to play consistently through some rain to hold the low score.
UPDATED: October 10, 8:00 a.m - Tara Fleming's run at the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur came to an end on Tuesday as she lost her match in the Round of 16. Fleming was defeated by Andra Kraus of Baltimore, Md., 3 & 1, elminating her from the field. Although Fleming struggled on the back nine, she still put up a fight against Kraus and battled it out through the 17th hole. To keep up with the quarterfinal matches, click here.
