Match Play Brackets Set at the 2024 Richardson Memorial Championship

EAST WILLISTON, N.Y. (May 2, 2024) -- The field for Match play at 2024 Richardson Memorial Championship Sponsored by Keystone Electronics Corp. at Wheatley Hills Golf Club is set. After a full day of golf, the brackets are set for both the Championship and senior Division. In the Championship Division it was Matthew Lowe of MGA eClub Long Island. Lowe who went out early set the pace playing through fog this morning.

Lowe carded a bogey free 67 for his round. Lowe started with two birdies on the front to move up the leaderboard. He would continue his run adding three more heading into 18 where he would make par.

“It was definitely a good round of ball striking, I didn’t miss many shots today. I hit some good putts to start, missed some putts to start the back and then finished strong.”

Finishing just one shot back to claim the two seed in the Championship Division was John Meyers of MGA eClub – New Jersey. Meyers, who went out in one of the last groups posted a 4-under 68. Meyers started with consistent play logging one birdie and eight pars on his first nine. He would make his move at the turn logging four birdies to just one bogey including a birdie on his last hole.

Rounding out the top qualifiers in the Championship division were Prescott Butler of Meadow Brook Club and Colin Dolph of Nassau Country Club. Both players carded a even-par 70.

In the Senior Championship Division Dave Scialabba of Meadow Brook Club set the pace. His 4-under par 68 was good enough to earn him the one seed for Match play. Scialabba recorded five birdies to just one bogey in his round. He was followed closely by Alan Specht of Port Jefferson CC at Hrbr Hill who followed with a 3-under par 69. Jahn Levin of Glen Oaks Club rounds out the top three in the Senior Division. He shot a 1-under 71 for his round.

Match play will start at 7:30 with the Senior Division heading out first. They are followed by the Championship Division where tee times start at 8:42.
