Donald Trump Donates 30,000 Golf Balls to MGA

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (March 5, 2008) – Junior golfers across the Met Area will benefit this season from a generous donation made by real estate developer Donald Trump. Mr. Trump has donated 30,000 golf balls to the Metropolitan Golf Association Foundation for use in its junior golf initiatives and The First Tee of Metropolitan New York.

The donated golf balls were recovered from both of Mr. Trump’s highly acclaimed courses in the Met Area, Trump National-Westchester in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., and Trump National-Bedminster in New Jersey. They will be distributed at each of three MGA/MetLife junior clinics and at five First Tee facilities across the tri-state region. An avid golfer and consistent benefactor to the MGA Foundation, Mr. Trump’s contributions are greatly appreciated by all of the youngsters involved with junior golf in the Met Area.

“I am passionate about golf, and I fully support the initiatives of the MGA, Met PGA and The First Tee, both locally and nationally. They are helping to grow the game, and that’s key to the future of golf,” said Mr. Trump.

Mr. Trump went on to say, “I want to help lay the foundation for the wonderful programs being put in place for youth golf in the Metropolitan New York area. They should have every opportunity to become successful, and I know my donation will work towards that end.”

The First Tee of Metropolitan New York was created in 2001 as a joint venture between the MGA Foundation and Metropolitan Section of the PGA to create affordable and accessible golf facilities and bring First Tee programming to young people from all backgrounds. The First Tee sites at Mosholu GC in the Bronx, Fairchild Wheeler GC in Fairfield, Conn., Weequahic Park in Newark, N.J., Chelsea Piers in New York City, and Eisenhower Park on Long Island will all benefit from Mr. Trump’s generosity.

The MGA Foundation enjoyed a very successful 2007 season with tremendous expansion of First Tee facilities, record participation in the GOLFWORKS Student Intern Program and the continued success of the $5 million Capital Campaign.
