WEST CALDWELL, N.J. - Mike Gilmore quietly came from behind and posted a final round four-under par 67 to capture his first Met Open Championship, sponsored by Met Life, today at Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell, N.J. The 35-year old head professional at Wheatley Hills Golf Club on Long Island compiled a six-under par 54 hole total of 207 (70-70-67) to edge out two-time Walker Cup team member Jerry Courville Jr. of Shorehaven.

ARDSLEY-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - In what turned out to be a battle of the number one & two seeds, and also close friends, Martin Catalioto, of Ramsey, N.J., capped off an exceptional week by defeating Jack Skirkanich, of Rumson, N.J., 3 & 1 to capture his second MGA/MetLife Junior Championship at Ardsley CC in Ardsley-on-Hudson, N.Y. ANDREWS GC--The 2000 MGA Tournament season kicked off in dramatic fashion as the Rutgers University team came from an eleven shot morning deficit to capture its first MGA Intercollegiate Championship in over 25 years.  Rutgers heroic finish was good enough to edge out St. John’s University, leaders after the morning 18, on a spectacular day at historic St. Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
