ASMUNDSON TEAM FROM STANWICH CAPTURES MGA FATHER & SON GROSS TITLE

SCARSDALE, N.Y. (August 14, 2006) – William and Philip Asmundson from Stanwich finished with a five-under-par 65 today to outlast 57 other teams and win the 56th MGA Father & Son (Gross) Championship at Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y.  Kieran and Mark Duffy of Sleepy Hollow carded a two-under-par 68 to finish second in the 18-hole championship played under a Pinehurst scoring format.

SHELTER ISLAND, N.Y. (August 11, 2006) - Cameron Wilson of Rowayton, Conn., defeated Curtis Loop of New Canaan, Conn., 4 & 3 in the 18-hole final match to win the 38th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club on Shelter Island, N.Y.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 8, 2006) - Sixteen Boys will play in the 38th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship scheduled for Thursday and Friday, August 10th and 11th at the Gardiner’s Bay Country Club on Shelter Island, N.Y.  The contestants will compete over two days of match play, preceded by a practice round and cookout on Wednesday, August 9th.  This year marks the seventh time Gardiner’s Bay has hosted this event.

(August 5, 2006) – For the first time in its 104 year history the Met Amateur Championship will feature two teenagers in the final match. Seventeen-year-old Tommy McDonagh of Shorehaven and 19-year-old Kevin Foley of Somerville, N.J., will begin the 36-hole final match tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
