ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 22, 2015) – This week begins the 36th U.S. Senior Open Championship and some of the Met Area’s best are making the cross-country trip to compete at the scenic Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, California.
Pat Wilson of Andover, N.J., the 2013 Met Amateur champion, earned a trip to Chambers Bay and his first U.S. Open after advancing through Sectional Qualifying at Old Oaks and Century in Purchase, N.Y., on June 8. Wilson is sharing some of his U.S. Open experiences with the MGA:

(June 8, 2015) – The U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying round is underway at Century and Old Oaks Country Clubs in Purchase, N.Y. and the field of 71 competitors battling for four spots and two alternates have completed their first round. After 18 holes it’s Scott Dunlap of Duluth, Ga., who leads the way thanks to a phenomenal 3-under 67 at Old Oaks.
