Caron and Bolling set the pace at the Long Island Senior Open

Laurel, N.Y (September 27, 2023) On a beautiful fall day it was Jason Caron of Mill River Club along with Charles Bolling of Engineers Country Club who hold the lead after round 1 of the Long Island Senior Open Championship at Laurel Links. The duo finished at even par 71 for the day. Jason Caron set the pace teeing off in one of the first groups out. He recorded 2 birdies to just 1 bogey on the front 9 for a 35. He would give one back on 10 on his way to an even par round.

With an afternoon tee time it was Charles Bolling who worked his way up the leaderboard to match Caron for the lead. After shooting a one over 37 on the front, he would go on to birdie 12 and 17 to finish for a tie for first place. 
 
Following close behind was Scott Ford of Glen Oaks Club at 1-over par and Dave Scialabba of Meadow Brook at 2-over par. Alan Specht of Port Jefferson CC and David Boccia of Huntington Country Club both finished at 3-over par. 
 
Overall 33 golfers advanced to Thursday with tee times starting at 8am.
