Seniors and Super Seniors Advance to Westchester Amateur Championship

 
 
Armonk N.Y. (June 19, 2023) Philip Mintz of Century Country Club lead a field of 15 seniors who qualified for the 104th Westchester Amateur Championship at GlenArbor. Mintz shot a 1-over for the round. He recorded 3 birdies on the front 9 and 1 birdie on the back 9 to log a 72. Richard Kelsey of Old Oaks came in right behind Mintz with a 2-over par 73. Kelsey started the round slow by shooting 4-over par on the font. The back proved the better of the two 9’s as he carded 4 birdies to record a 33 on the par 35 back 9.  
 
Garry Singer of Salem GC , Geoff Schneider of Rolling hills CC and Gustav Talleur of MGA E-Club Hudson Valley rounded out the top 5 finishing in a tie for third and carding a 3-over 74s. The final two qualifying spots for the Senior division would come down to a playoff.  Michael Eisenband of Fenway Golf Club was the first to earn a spot from the four-man playoff. He secured his spot in the second playoff hole. Frank Geiger of Sterling Farms Mens Golf Club took home the last qualifying spot winning the third and final playoff hole. 
 
 
Jeff Reissman of Hollow Brook Golf Club lead the way for the Super Senior division. Reissman recorded a 1-over par 72 for the round. After carding an even par front 9 he gave one back recording a bogey on the 14th hole on his way in to finish 1-over on the back 9. This was followed by a 2-over 73 from Steve Gersh of Rolling Hills Country ClubJim Romaniello of Shorehaven Golf Club and Mark Vassalotti of Sterling Farms Mens Golf Club followed with a pair 74’s. Chuck Deluca of Country Club of Darien, Martin Dolan of Ardsley Country Club and John Paul Newport of Spook Rock rounded out the qualifying spots. 
 
The 104th Westchester Amateur Championship will be held at GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford N.Y. The tournament will take place from July Wednesday, July 5th - Friday, July 7th.
