Finn entered the day tied for first place with Brett Cooper of The Seawane Club. The two players were neck and neck for most of yesterday, and the only players to shoot under par on day one. Even with a lead, Finn maintained a determined mindset for day two.

“I wanted to be aggressive with my targets. I knew I would play well if I maintained that goal.”

Although Bethpage Black proved to be a challenge, Finn was able to carry his momentum into Day two and finish 2-over 73, with three birdies on the day. However, Josh German of the Seawane Club was putting up a strong fight. Four birdies led German to finish 1-under 70, tying Finn’s total gross score and causing play to enter a 3 hole aggregate playoff.

After playing holes 1, 17 and 18 in the playoffs, Finn finished one shot lower than German, earning his victory. Reflecting on his win at such a historic course, Finn said,

“So many great major champions have won here, Tiger, Brooks, and so many great MGA events have been held here. To be amongst those names feels incredible.”

Sam O’Hara of Maidstone Club finished third at 2-over 144. There was a three way tie for fourth place between Ben Mitchell, Tyler Clark and Brett Cooper, all of whom finished at 4-over 146.
