ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 20, 2019) -- Qualifying for the 97th Westchester Open Championship Presented by Callaway this year takes place at Redding Country Club on May 20 and Rockland Country Club on May 22. Players from both sites will vie to advance to the championship proper, set for June 10-11 at Country Club of Darien. The club completed a renovation by Dr. Michael Hurdzan in 2010, with spectacular results that led to 2010 Renovation of the Year honors from Golf, Inc.

May 20 - Redding Country Club, Redding, Conn.
Field: 76 | Qualifying Positions: 29 & ties
Charles Maizel of Siwanoy carded the day's only sub-par score with a 1-under 70 in windy conditions at Redding Country Club. Maizel carded five birdies on the day as he led 37 players that advanced to Country Club of Darien. Amateur Tobin Whitman of Westchester held the low total for the majority of the day after playing in the first group and posting 1-over 72. MGA eClub - Westchester/Connecticut member Matthew Chorches and Scott Worsdale of Otterkill posted 2-over 73s, while Brad Jordan of championship host Country Club of Darien rounded out the top five qualifiers with a 3-over 74. The 37 players advancing recorded rounds of 80 or better.

Field Size: 102 | Qualifying Positions: 38 & ties
Mitch Gray of Pelham carded the day's only sub-par score with a 5-under 66 at Rockland Country Club to take medalist honors. Gray carded six birdies, with only one bogey on the day as he led 39 players that advanced to Country Club of Darien. Rounding out the top five was Patrick Schwarze of Wykagyl, Greg Reilly of Westchester Open host Darien, Peter Kampmann of Manhattan Woods, and Brian Flanagan of Leewood, all carding 72. The 39 players advancing recorded rounds of 79 or better.
