Mitchell Defends Long Island Junior Championship Title

Charlie Mitchell won his second consecutive Long Island Junior Championship at Lake Success Golf Club on Wednesday, July 25th with a two round total of even par 140.

Mitchell was able to defend his title from last year thanks to a second round card of 3-under 67. Mitchell got off to a hot start Wednesday by birdieing his first hole of the day and never looked back. Par five scoring turned out to be a strong suit for Mitchell as he was able to make birdies on Lake Success' three Par fives. At the end of the day Mitchell found himself at the top of the leaderboard six shots better than the closest competitor.

A Boy's and Girl's champion were also crowned with Alexander Reyes claiming the Boy's title with a round of 4-over 74 while Deanna Confessore captured the Girl's title with a round of 2-over 75.
