First Tee Welcomes Golf Legend

NORWALK, Conn. (June 13, 2008) – Four-time PGA Tour winner and eight-time Senior Tour winner Lee Elder, was on hand for a First Tee of Metropolitan New York junior golf clinic on June 13 at Silvermine Golf Club in Norwalk, Conn. Elder, who is widely known for being the first African-American to play in The Masters in 1975, highlighted a morning-long golf clinic for the Connecticut youth golfers with an inspiring presentation combining golf and life lessons.

This was the second of Elder’s two-day stop at Silvermine Golf Club. Elder returned to Connecticut earlier in the week to participate in many of the events leading up to Thursday’s PGA Tour Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.
