September 25, 2009 – 2007 Met Open champion Frank Bensel of Century, and 2006 & 2007 NJPGA Player of the Year Frank Esposito of Brooklake, each won their respective PGA section championships this month. Bensel won the Met PGA Championship, held September 15-17 at Quaker Ridge, while Esposito won the NJPGA Section Championship, held September 22-24 at Mountain Ridge.

With the victory, Bensel has now won the Met Open, the N.Y. State Open, and now the Met PGA Championship. This marks the third Section Championship for Esposito, who previously won the event in 2007 and 2003.
