Four Local Players Advance to First Stage of Q-School

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2012) - Casey Calmi of Douglaston, N.Y., Michael Furci of Sayville, N.Y., and Matt Dubrowski of Bergenfield, N.J., all finished inside the top 39 to make it through the Pre-Qualifying Stage of Q-School at Bear Lakes Country Club (Links) in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Calmi and Furci both finished with 54-holes totals of 219 (plus-3), which placed them in a tie for 20th. Dubrowski finished on the number with a 222 (plus-6 overall, T36) and did it with an even-par 72 in the final round.

Four days later, Anthony Aruta of Staten Island, N.Y., also advanced through Pre-Qualifying and into the First Stage. Aruta was competing at Cypresswood Country Club in Spring, Texas, and finished tied for 31st (the top 37 and ties advanced). Aruta's second-round 69 was the key to his performance.

All four players will now compete in the First Stage of Q-School, which will be held at 13 sites throughout the country during the second and third weeks in October.
