MGA Leads By Four Strokes at 50th Williamson Cup

SCARBOROUGH, N.Y. (August 14, 2013) – After the first round of play at the 50th Williamson Cup at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, N.Y., it is the MGA in the lead, looking to capture their third consecutive victory. There are 10 total golf associations in today’s competition and each team consists of four players. Team score is determined by taking the top three scores per 18 holes in the 36-hole competition.

The MGA leads by four strokes with a 13-over total of 223. It was a pair of 74s in extremely windy conditions by Will Bernstein and Matt Lowe and a 5-over 75 for Vincent Palazzolo.

In a close second at 17-over 227 is the Golf Association of Philadelphia. Scores for them came from Stephen Cerbara with a 3-over 73, Kevin Kramarski with a 5-over 75 and Roland Michael Massimino with a 9-over 79.

Also still well in contention is the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association at 18-over 228 and the Golf Association of Ontario at 19-over 229.

The two low scores of the morning came from Tony Gil of the GA of Ontario and Ryan Rucinski of the Delaware State Golf Association, both shooting 2-over 72s.
