Three Advance in U.S. Senior Amateur

UPDATED: (September 24, 2013) 3 p.m. - Following a 2 up win in the Round of 32, Zahringer will now take on David Szewczul of Farmington, Conn. 

Al Small took a 1 up lead into the 17th hole in the Round of 32, but his opponent, Edward Steiber of Cincinnati, Ohio was able to win the final two holes for the 1 up victory.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (September 23, 2013) - Ten-time MGA champion George Zahringer of New York, N.Y., former MGA Senior Am winner Al Small of Florham Park, N.J., and reigning MGA Senior Am champion Jon Tingley of Flemington, N.J. have all qualified for the match play portion of the 2013 U.S. Senior Amateur Championship at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, N.C.

Zahringer led the way with rounds of 74-80 (plus-10) to finish T-40. Small shot rounds of 80-75 (plus-11) to finish T53, while Tingley had to survive a 13-for-5 playoff to punch his ticket into match play.
