Met Area Courses Well Represented in Golf Digest's "Top 100"

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (January 8, 2014) - Since 1966 Golf Digest has been ranking America's Top 100 courses and one thing has always been a constant, the gems of the Met Area take up quite a bit of space on each year's list. 2015-2016's edition was no different, the top 10 alone featured five courses in the New York/New Jersey area. Below are the MGA member clubs that made the list and where they ranked.

#4 - Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Southampton, N.Y.

#8 - National Golf Links of America, Southampton, N.Y.

#9 - Winged Foot Golf Club (West), Mamaorneck, N.Y.

#10 - Fishers Island Club, Fishers Island, N.Y.

#23 - Friar's Head, Baiting Hollow, N.Y.

#38 - Sebonack Golf Club, Southampton, N.Y.

#41 - Baltusrol Golf Club (Lower), Springfield, N.J.

#43 - Bethpage State Park (Black), Farmingdale, N.Y.

#49 - Garden City Golf Club, Garden City, N.Y.

#58 - Baltusrol Golf Club (Upper), Springfield, N.J.

#59 - Winged Foot Golf Club (East), Mamaroneck, N.Y.

#71 - Quaker Ridge Golf Club, Scarsdale, N.Y.

#72 - Plainfield Country Club, Edison, N.J.

#73 - Somerset Hills Country Club, Bernardsville, N.J.

#95 - Hudson National Golf Club, Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.

#98 - Maidstone Club, East Hampton, N.Y.

In total a commanding 16 MGA member clubs made the list, and that is of course leaving out New Jersey's, and arguably the world's finest, Pine Valley Golf Club coming in at #2 on the list only behind Augusta.
