Active Season Returns to Met Area

Players on a green

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (April 1, 2021) -- April 1 marks the start of the active score posting season in the Met Area. Rounds played within the region and meeting the requirements of the Rules of Handicapping must be posted and will count toward your daily handicap revisions under the World Handicap System.

Scores Acceptable for Handicap Purposes

The World Handicap System (WHS) was introduced in 2020 by the USGA and R&A, bringing together six different handicap systems into a single set of Rules for Handicapping. This enabled golfers of different abilities to play and compete on a fair and equal basis, no matter where they play. The WHS paves the way to consistency and portability.

Have questions about the WHS? Visit our WHS Resources page for more information, including five key changes under the WHS, videos, infographics, FAQs and more.
