Dave and Peter Scialabba Claim Father and Son at Echo Lake

WESTFIELD, N.J. (August 11, 2020) - Dave and Peter Scialabba of Meadow Brook will add their names to the McBride Cup after capturing the 70th MGA Father and Son Championship on Tuesday at Echo Lake. The Scialabba team finished with a 5-under 66 in the Pinehurst format, leading the rest of the field by two strokes. An impressive round filled with five birdies and no bogeys earned the duo their first MGA Father and Son title after finishing as the runner-up team in 2019.

"We both played steady all day and were able to get through the round without a bogey," Dave said of their round. "We were fortunate enough to make a couple of early par saves and then settled down to give ourselves quite a few birdie looks for the rest of the round. As any parent or child from a golfing family can imagine, winning an event with the history and prestige of the MGA Father and Son Championship is a real dream come true." Just a day earlier, Dave qualified for the 105th Met Open Championship at the Cherry Valley qualifying round.
