Doran leads 11 qualifiers from Rockleigh

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (May 29, 2018) – Dan Doran of MGA eClub - New Jersey, led a field of 58 competitors with a round of 2-under 69 to take the top spot of 11 qualifying positions for the 71st MGA Public Links Championship Tuesday at Rockleigh Golf Course.

Doran was one of two competitors who finished the day under par, as his four birdies and one eagle earned him medalist honors. Along with Doran under par was Michael Young Jr. of South Shore who finished with a round of 1-under 70, which consisted of two birdies on the final four holes.

Safely qualifying with scores of even-par 71 were Brent Fredericksen of Silver Lake and Chris Lee of Met PGA Junior Golf Club.

One Stroke behind at 1-over 72 was Eric Salizzoni of MGA eClub - New Jersey. Rounds of 2-over 73 yielded qualifying spots for Leo Lee of MGA eClub - New Jersey and Eric Bleile of Sterling Farms.

Peter Kozubal of MGA eClub - New Jersey and Shane Kennedy of Blue Hill moved on to the championship proper thanks to rounds of 3-over 74.

The final qualifying positions were earned by Clark Holle of MGA eClub - New Jersey and Calvin Ralph of Paramus with rounds of 4-over 75.

Rockleigh Golf Course played to a par 71 at 6,556 yards.

The final qualifier for the 71st MGA Public Links Championship will take place Thursday, May 31st at Bethpage State Park Golf Course (Blue) in Farmingdale, N.Y. For complete details and qualifying information, visit mgagolf.org
