Gavin Named Director of the MGA Foundation

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (March 16, 2020) -- Johanna Gavin has been named Director of the MGA Foundation, effective March 1. Gavin joined the staff at Golf Central in January 2018 as Senior Director, Caddie Scholarship Funds, when the MGA Foundation took on administrative and operational services for both the Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund (WGACSF) and Long Island Caddie Scholarship Fund (LICSF). Under Gavin’s leadership, both local funds reported record growth in fundraising and in the number of scholarship recipients.

Gavin’s new responsibilities will include fundraising, charitable relationships, youth initiatives, and the MGA’s partnership with The First Tee.

“Our Foundation has played a crucial part in the MGA’s mission since it was founded [in 1991], and we’re proud of the progress and growth it has seen,” said MGA Executive Director Brian Mahoney. “Johanna’s new position reflects a more comprehensive approach to our charitable undertakings. Under her leadership, the current Foundation and CSF teams are merging into a more unified support model as we continue to expand our reach and further develop programming.”

Peter Nicholson, who has overseen the MGA Foundation since 2015, will remain active in a key support role as a senior associate.
