Cameron Wilson Shoots Course-Record 61 at CordeValle

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 12, 2012) - Four-time MGA champion Cameron Wilson of Rowayton, Conn., has given previews of the low scores he's capable of shooting. On Monday, Nov. 5 the Stanford University junior put it all together and fired a career-low and course-record 10-under 61 during the first round of the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif.

The staggering round included 11 birdies and one bogey (30-31) on the PGA Tour course and tied Tiger Woods for the lowest 18-hole score ever recorded by a Stanford University golfer. It should also be mentioned that Wilson and Woods shared a practice round at the 2012 U.S. Open at Olympic Club.

Wilson has shown glimpses of brilliance throughout his young career. In 2012 alone, Wilson fired a 7-under 65 during the second round of U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying at Canoe Brook (he finished as the medalist) and then another 7-under 65 at the Ike on a day where conditions were wreaking havoc on the field (he went on to win by nine shots).

He ended up tying for second in the tournament.
