Miller Playing in Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (September 24, 2013) - Two-time reigning MGA Player of the Year Mike Miller has his second significant event as a professional starting Thursday, September 26. The Brewster, N.Y., native will be in the field when some of the world's best players tee off in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St. Andrews Golf Club in St. Andrews, Scotland. 

The European Tour event, which features major winners like Ernie Els, Charl Schwartzel and Martin Kaymer, will be played in a pro-am format over three world-famous courses (Old Course, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns). The final round will be contested on the Old Course.

Miller, who won $15,000 for his third place victory at the Met Open in August, got in the championship via sponsor's exemption. It's his first official start on any Tour. He'll be paired with Ricardo Santos of Spain (ranked 192 in the Official World Golf Rankings) in the first round at 9:22 a.m. (4:22 a.m. our time).

Miller has also proven that his game adapts well to links golf, finishing T4 at both the Lytham Trophy and Irish Amateur in 2012, and collecting a T3 finish at the 2013 Portuguese Amateur. He also helped the MGA team claim the Carey Cup for the first time ever on Irish soil last April.
