ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 18, 2009) — The top young golfers from The First Tee chapters of Metropolitan New York, Massachusetts and Ireland will compete in The Barclays Tri-Match at Plainfield Country Club in Edison, N.J., from August 21-24. The Barclays Tri-Match was launched in 2007 by Barclays PLC, the PGA Tour and The First Tee of Metropolitan New York in order to give participants in The First Tee program the opportunity to compete and meet their peers from other chapters.

Thirteen Met Area amateurs, including nine champions of MGA events over the last five years, are in the field for the 109th U.S.
GREENWICH, CONN. (August 17, 2009) – The father and son team of Jerry and Vincent Martino of Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, N.J., fired a three-under-par round of 68 to win the 59th MGA Father & Son Championship at Tamarack Country Club.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 14, 2009) – Father and son golfers take center stage next week as the 59th MGA Father & Son Championship and the 20th MGA Father & Son Net Tournament are held on consecutive days at two outstanding Met Area courses: the championship on Monday, August 17 at Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, Conn., and the net tournament on Tuesday, August 18 at Glen Ridge Country Club in Glen Ridge, N.J.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 13, 2009) – Defending champion Peter Kim of Metuchen, N.J., advanced to the semifinals of the 41st MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club following two impressive victories. Matt Josephs of Palisades, N.Y., Mark Reilly of Babylon, N.Y., and Michael Giannico of Blue Point, N.Y., will join Kim in the semifinals, which are scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
