November 18, 2009 – Reflecting the extraordinary depth of golf talent in the Met Area, a number of high school seniors have taken the next step in their golfing careers by committing to play golf at the collegiate level. Headlining the 2010 class of young guns is 2009 MGA Jerry Courville Sr.
The ShopRite LPGA Classic will return to southern New Jersey after a three-year absence from the Tour. The Tour stop will be played from June 14 – 20, 2010 and will once again take place on the Seaview Resort's historic Donald Ross links-design Bay Course. The 54-hole official event will offer a $1.5M purse and will be televised on the Golf Channel.

November 9, 2009 – Mike Miller of Brewster, N.Y., won the Golfweek Jr. Invitational held November 7th and 8th at the Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla. Miller fired rounds of 73-69 for a 142 total to win by five strokes over the nearest competitor.

October 29, 2009 – Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk, Conn., capped off the best season of his young career by winning the
2009 MGA Jerry Courville Sr. Player of the Award. The high school senior, who turns 17 on November 2, accumulated 880 points for the season to edge out 2009 Ike Champion Mike Ballo Jr. and become the youngest MGA Player of the Year ever.
October 28, 2009 - Twelve players from the amateur and professional ranks were honored as several Met Area golf associations announced their players of the year. Starting off in New Jersey, the NJSGA award was shared by 2007 MGA Senior Amateur champion Jay Blumenfeld of Mountain Ridge and Mike Deo of High Bridge Hills.
October 29, 2009 – The Metropolitan Golf Association is pleased to announce that David B. Fay, executive director of the United States Golf 
Association, will receive the 2009 MGA Distinguished Service Award. Recognized throughout the world as one of the foremost authorities on golf, Fay has been with the USGA since 1978 and executive director for 20 years.
