While the 94th MGA Senior Amateur Championship owns the season's first deadline (April 28), the event often sells out prior to the deadline's arrival. There's already high anticipation for the championship as Round Hill Club in Greenwich, Conn., will serve has host for the first time.

The next earliest registration deadline comes on May 12 for both the MGA/WMGA Women's Public Links Championship and the 28th Senior Net Four-Ball Tournament. Competitors in the Women's Public Links will compete on the Seth Raynor-designed Rock Spring Golf Club in West Orange, N.J., while the Senior Net Four-Ball takes place at Ardsley Country Club.

Juniors and mid-amateur competitors are also encouraged to respectively review the invitation criteria for the 19th MGA Carter Cup, which returns to its home at Baltusrol Golf Club, and the 15th MGA Mid-Amateur Championship, which takes place at Friar's Head. Players qualify based on quality finishes in a variety of Met Area events.

The 1st MGA Parent-Child Net Tournament is an exciting opportunity in 2021. The event, formerly the Father and Son Net Tournament, now welcomes any team comprised of a parent and child, in any gender combination. Step-parents, grandparents and in-laws are eligible. It will be contested in Pinehurst format, taking place at Tam O'Shanter Country Club in Glen Head, N.Y.

March 1 also marks the opening of championship registration for both the Long Island Golf Association and Westchester Golf Association. Both once again offer players with outstanding opportunities for regional competition and this year both associations are taking their amateur championships to first-time hosts. Noyac Golf Club in Sag Harbor will welcome the 98th Long Island Amateur Championship Presented by Sterling National Bank, while Paramount Country Club in New City, N.Y., will host the 102nd Westchester Amateur Championship.
