CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. (August 4, 2019) –⁠ After taking a 3-up lead in the morning round, Chris Gotterup of Rumson continued his strong play in the afternoon en route to a 7-and-5 victory over Ryan Davis of New Jersey National in the 117th Met Amateur Championship at Hudson National Golf Club.

Both won two holes over the opening six in the afternoon, but Gotterup made birdie on the par-5 9th and didn't let up from there. A pair of wins with par extended his lead, while he finished in style, closing the door with a birdie two on the 13th for the final 7-and-5 margin.
