JUSTIN JACARUSO WINS MGA/METLIFE PUBLIC LINKS

NESHANIC STATION, N.J. (July 6, 2007) – Justin Jacaruso of Spook Rock Golf Course won the 60th MGA/MetLife Public Links Championship by one stroke today at Neshanic Valley Golf Course. It is the first MGA title for the 23-year-old resident of Suffern, N.Y., and his rounds of 71-72 equaled a one-under-par 143 total. Jacaruso’s steady play on the difficult 7,045-yard, par-72 layout was the key to his victory, as no one else in the field put together two rounds of par or better.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 2, 2006) - The 2007 MGA/MetLife Public Links Championship,sponsored by MetLife, is scheduled to be played at Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, N.J., on Friday, July 6th. An entry of 400 public links golfers have been pared, through five sectional qualifying rounds, to a final field of 54contestants, including nine exempt players, who will compete for the title.

(July 27, 2006) – David Pastore of Greenwich, Conn., defeated Chris Scialo of New City, N.Y., 1-up in the final of the 89th MGA/MetLife Junior Championship at the Apawamis Club in Rye, N.Y.  At 14, Pastore becomes the youngest champion in the history of the MGA Junior, one year younger than the former record holder, 2005 champion Gene Yang.

(July 26, 2006) - The second day at the 89th MGA/MetLife Junior Championship at The Apawamis Club in Rye, N.Y., featured a man on a mission.  Chris Scialo of New City, N.Y., marched into the semi-finals with an impressive 6&5 victory over 2005 runner-up, and Apawamis member, Jeff Pike of Rye, N.Y.  Scialo will play Andrew Cohen of Mamaroneck, N.Y. in the semi-finals.  Robert Cronheim of Watchung, N.J., will play David Pastore of Greenwich, Conn., in the other semi-final match.

STONY POINT, N.Y. (July 18, 2006) - On a scorching day in Rockland County, the Broadacres Golf Club team of Steven O’Brien and Neil Carcaterra fired a 12-under-par net 59 to win the MGA/MetLife Men’s Net Team Championship at Patriot Hills Golf Club in Stony Point, N.Y.  The Ash Brook team of Juan Grana and Dave Upton finished one-shot back with a net 60.
