Sectional qualifying for one of the nation's most coveted regional events, the 99th Met Open Championship,  is offically underway to determine the final field that will play at Trump National - Bedminster on August 19-21.

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (July, 21 2014) – Amateur Eddie Carnes of MGA eClub-New Jersey took home medalist honors after firing a 4-under par 67 at today’s Sectional Qualifying Round for the 99th Met Open Championship held at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J. A field of 145 players competed for 15 qualifying positions (plus ties) to advance to the championship at Trump National - Bedminster on August 19-21.

Advancing to the semifinals are four of the Met Area’s top junior golfers, Matt Lowe of Farmingdale, N.Y., Dawson Jones of Howell, N.J., John VanDerLaan of Southbury, Conn., and Thomas LaMorte of Haworth, N.J.
