Local Club Pros at Champions Tour Q-School

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 18, 2014) - While some of the best locals take on Web.com Tour Q-School this week, some are also teeing it up in the Champions Tour Q-School Tournament. This week's event is currently taking place at Panther Lake GC in Winter Garden, Fla. and some Met Area names are off to a good start.

More Locals Begin Stage Two this Week

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 18, 2014) - Last week three venues hosted second stage Web.com Tour Qualifying School Tournaments and two locals emerged and are headed to the final stage that will be held December 11-16 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven and MGA Player of the Year David Pastore of Griff Harris were both able to qualify for the final stage and five more local players will attempt to join them beginning today at three different Qualifying sites.

Recently it was Grant Sturgeon winning the PGA Assistants Championship, and last week it was David Pastore and Cameron Wilson advancing to the final stage of Web.com Tour Q-School. Esposito is the latest local to capture a national victory after his win yesterday at the 26th Senior PGA Professional National Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The Monroe, N.J.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 13, 2014) - The 26th Senior PGA Professional National Championship begins today and some of the Met Area's top local professionals will tee it up at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. in the hopes of capturing the Leo Fraser Trophy, as well as one of the 35 spots reserved for the 2015 Senior PGA Championship. The tournament will be contested on PGA Golf Club's Ryder and Wanamker courses and features a field of 264 PGA Club Pros.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 31, 2014) - The Metropolitan Golf Association is pleased to announce that David Pastore of Griff Harris Men’s Club is the recipient of the 2014 MGA Jerry Courville Sr. Player of the Year Award. Pastore’s career year was highlighted by two down-the-stretch victories at the MGA Ike and Met Amateur championships, but steady play in the Met Area also played a big role in Pastore’s runaway Player of the Year season.

UPDATED 5:17 p.m. (November 2, 2014) - Grant Sturgeon of Mamaroneck, N.Y. claimed the 38th National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship today at PGA Golf Club's Wanamaker Course in Port St. Lucie, Fla. with a final round score of 7-under 65. That gave Sturgeon a four day total of 13-under 275. The red-hot play continues for the reigning Met Open Champion as this gives the Winged Foot assistant professional his fourth victory of the year.
