BEDMINSTER, N.J. (August 20, 2014) - The second round of the 99^th Met Open at Trump – Bedminster is underway and the morning wave of players fired some excellent scores on the Old Course. After recording a 2-under 70 yesterday, Grant Sturgeon of Winged Foot followed it up today with a 4-under 68, giving him the clubhouse 36-hole lead at 6-under mid-way through the second round.

BEDMINSTER, N.J. (August 19, 2014) - The first round is underway at the 99^th Met Open Championship at Trump National Golf Club – Bedminster and the difficult Old Course is providing quite the test for some of the best players in the Met Area. After six pros came in from the morning wave at 1-under, it was amateur Harrison Shih of Alpine firing a 3-under 69 that got everyone talking. The soon-to-be junior at Columbia University felt he got off to a sluggish start, but after that he settled in nicely.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 14, 2014) – On Tuesday, August 12 a group of 25 enthusiastic junior golfers enjoyed VIP treatment during a day at MetLife Stadium and New York Giants Training Camp for the second MGA/MetLife Youth Clinic of the summer.  The participants spent the morning at The First Tee of Metropolitan New York’s Essex County site where they learned golf and life skills at Weequahic Park in Newark, N.J.

RUMSON, N.J. (August 8, 2014) - It took 22 holes and an absolutely unbelievable two-putt birdie for Brent Ito of Ardsley, N.Y. to finally claim victory at the 46^th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Rumson Country Club. The 15-year-old never trailed a match the entire championship, but let a 3-up lead slip away in the final match against Christopher Gotterup of Little Silver, N.J.

RUMSON, N.J. (August 8, 2014) - Rumson Junior Club Champion Chris Gotterup of Little Silver, N.J. will meet Brent Ito of Ardsley, N.Y. in the final match in the 46^th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Rumson Country Club. Gotterup’s home course advantage has come up big in all of his matches, but he takes on a very tough task against Ito, who has yet to trail in any match he has played.

RUMSON, N.J. (August 7, 2014) - The semifinal matches have been set at Rumson Country Club for the 46^th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship. 16 talented junior golfers played in a match play bracket today to determine the final four and they will play 18-hole matches again tomorrow to determine the ultimate champion.

RUMSON, N.J. (August 7, 2014) - The first round of matches are complete at the 46th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Rumson Country Club and the final eight players are heading back on the course to begin their second round. 

UPDATED 2:58 p.m. August 14 - The amazing run at the U.S. Amateur at Atlanta Athletic Club for Cameron Young of Scarborough, N.Y. has come to an end in the quarterfinals. After coming up with some late round magic in each of his first three matches, he came up just short in his quarterfinal match against Gunn Yang of Korea, losing 2 down. Yang won the 17th with a par and then eagled the final hole, the par 5 18th, for a spectacular victory over Young.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 4, 2014) - This week the 46^th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship heads back to Rumson Country Club where in 2011 Theo Humphrey of Greenwich, Conn., won the event over some of the best current junior players in the area. This year’s championship features some very young talented players who are poised to become forces on the MGA circuit in years to come.

LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. (August 2, 2014) - David Pastore leads 1 up over Matt Lowe after the first 18 holes of the Met Amateur final match. The first 18 hole match was a close one, with both players routinely making pars and halving the holes. Lowe made the turn at 1 up, but after Pastore birdied 14, the match got back to all square.
