LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. (August 2, 2014) – After two grueling semifinal matches at The Creek the championship match is set for tomorrow at the 112th Met Amateur. The final will be between Ike Champion David Pastore of MGA eClub – Westchester/Fairfield and Matthew Lowe of Colonial Springs.

LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. (July 31, 2014) - The first round of on-site 36-hole stroke play qualifying round at The Creek for the 112th Met Amateur is complete and Pieter Hartong of Stanwich leads at the end of the first round. Hartong carded an even par round of 70, which is enough to hold a one shot lead heading into the second round.

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 30, 2014) – The opening round of the 12th Carter Cup at Baltusrol is complete and Christopher Troy of Greenwich, Conn., is in the lead after firing a new competitive Upper Course record with his 7-under 65. Troy’s round was bogey free and featured a stretch of four straight birdies on holes 11 through 14.

It will be one of the strongest PGA Championship fields in recent memory as it features 29 major champions and barring any withdraws, for the first time in major championship history every player ranked in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking will play for the Wanamaker Trophy.

DENVILLE, N.J. (July 15, 2014) – The Met Area’s top junior golfers battled through a rain delay and humid conditions at Rockaway River Country Club today to determine the match play portion of the 97th Met Junior Championship sponsored by MetLife. 62 players battled for 16 spots by playing 36 holes of stroke play and two players medaled with 5-under totals of 139. This is the first time in 96 years the format has included on-site stroke play qualifying. In previous years the top 64 from sectional qualifiers and exemptions would make match play.

DENVILLE, N.J. (July 15, 2014) – The first of two rounds of stroke play qualifying at the 97th Met Junior sponsored by MetLife at Rockaway River Country Club has ended and five players fired under par rounds. The top 16 players out of 62 will move on to the match play portion of the tournament tomorrow.

Carding a superb 5-under 67 was Christian Cavaliere of Katonah, N.Y. Cavaliere had five birdies and an eagle on the par-4 eighth hole en route to the first round lead.

MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (July 10, 2014) – The first round of the 67th MGA Public Links Championship at Charleston Springs Golf Course (South) has ended and the two leaders hold a one shot lead. Eric LeFante of Neshanic Valley and Xander McDonald-Smith of Marine Park each fired 1-under 71s in the first round to grab the lead, but a host of players at even par 72 stand close behind. LeFante, the 2012 MGA Public Links Champion, hopes to capture his second MGA championship and feels good heading into his afternoon round.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. - The field for the 2014 U.S. Senior Open at Oak Tree National in Edmond, Okla. is set and three-time Met Open Champion Darrel Kestner of Glen Cove, N.Y. is one of the few Met Area local club pros that will tee it up the week of July 10-13. Kestner, the Director of Golf at Deepdale, will join names like Fred Couples, Kenny Perry, and Bernhard Langer as they all attempt to capture the 35th U.S. Senior Open.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. - This year will be the final playing of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship and the field features some local Met Area players and ones that could certainly contend for the trophy. The last edition of the event will be played at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas on July 14-19.
