U.S. Open SQR returns to Canoe Brook with Deep Field

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 1, 2016) – On Monday, June 6, the Metropolitan Golf Association returns its annually conducted Sectional Qualifying Round for the U.S. Open Championship to Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J., where one of the largest—and perhaps deepest—fields in recent history will have sights on advancing to this year’s national championship.

WESTFIELD, N.J., (May 24, 2016) - A total of 30 players qualified for the 61st Ike Championship - the MGA’s premier amateur stroke-play event - that will be played June 27 and 28 at Essex County Country Club in West Orange, N.J.

Dylan Stein of Cooper Hill earned medalist honors at today’s Sectional Qualifying Round at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, N.J.  Stein's six birdies and lone bogey added up to a 5-under 65 and separated him from the field by two strokes.

GREAT NECK, N.Y. (May 23, 2016) -  Alexander Kang of Harbor Links earned medalist honors at today’s Sectional Qualifying Round for the 61st MGA Ike Championship at Lake Success Golf Club in Great Neck, N.Y. Kang carded a cool 7 birdies en route to a final 5-under 65. 

A total of 20 players qualified for the MGA’s stroke play championship on June 27 and 28 at Essex County Country Club in West Orange, N.J.

(May 24, 2016) - Hana Ku of Basking Ridge, N.J., and teammate Jordan Lippetz of Oakland, Calif., battled back from one 2-down deficit against U.S. Women's Four-Ball Championship medalists Pauline Del Rosario and Princess Mary Superal of Philippines, but couldn't rally a second time, ending their run in the championship upon Streamsong Resort's Blue Course.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 18, 2016) - The MGA's first major of the 2016 season lies just over a month away, and Sectional Qualifying Rounds have begun to decide the final field that will compete for the 61st Ike Championship title at Essex County Country Club in West Orange, N.J.

Five qualifying rounds will help complete the field for the 54-hole championship, which takes place June 27-28.
