Seven Locals Make U.S. Junior Amateur

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 3, 2013) - The Met Area will be well represented when the U.S. Junior Amateur kicks off on July 22 at Martis Camp Club in Truckee, Calif. Six talented MGA competitors recently qualified (and one was exempt) for the championship and will compete against the best juniors in the country.

Eight Players Qualify for 111th Met Amateur

NEW CITY, N.Y. (July 1, 2013) – The first day of July brought steady rain to Paramount Country Club in New City, N.Y., as 144 players competed for only six spots (plus ties) into the prestigious 111th Met Amateur Championship, which will be held in August 1-4 at the Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn.

Mother Nature played defense for the 6,655 yard par-70 layout, with rain covering the grounds for most of the day as none of the eight qualifiers were able to finish under par.

Three Local Pros Make PGA Championship

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 27, 2013) - Two of the three Met Area professionals that finished in the top 20 at the National Club Pro Championship on Wednesday did so in dramatic (and clutch) fashion.

First it was 2012 Met Open winner Danny Balin of Burning Tree, who birdied the first playoff hole in a six-man race for three spots to secure his place in his fourth consecutive PGA Championship.
