BEDMINSTER, N.J. (August 20, 2014) - The second round of the 99th Met Open at Trump – Bedminster is underway and the morning wave of players fired some excellent scores on the Old Course. After recording a 2-under 70 yesterday, Grant Sturgeon of Winged Foot followed it up today with a 4-under 68, giving him the clubhouse 36-hole lead at 6-under mid-way through the second round.

(August 19, 2014) - The first round is underway at the 99th Met Open Championship at Trump National Golf Club – Bedminster and the difficult Old Course is providing quite the test for some of the best players in the Met Area. After six pros came in from the morning wave at 1-under, it was amateur Harrison Shih of Alpine firing a 3-under 69 that got everyone talking. The soon-to-be junior at Columbia University felt he got off to a sluggish start, but after that he settled in nicely.

(August 18, 2014)– Trump National—Bedminster, site of this year's Met Open, hosted a group of 45 enthusiastic junior golfers from The First Tee of Metropolitan New York on Monday, August 18, for the third installment of this year’s MGA/MetLife Youth Clinics. The clinic was held in conjunction with the Caddie Scholarship Pro-Am at the 99th Met Open Championship.

(August 14, 2014) – On Tuesday, August 12 a group of 25 enthusiastic junior golfers enjoyed VIP treatment during a day at MetLife Stadium and New York Giants Training Camp for the second MGA/MetLife Youth Clinic of the summer.  The participants spent the morning at The First Tee of Metropolitan New York’s Essex County site where they learned golf and life skills at Weequahic Park in Newark, N.J.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J.  (August 12, 2014)Kevin and Conor Casey of Galloping Hill and Somerset Hills won the 64th MGA Father & Son Championship at Brooklake Country in Florham Park, N.J., through rainy conditions today. The Caseys had the best score of the day with a 3-under 69 and led the rest of the field by one stroke. Kevin, the director of the Hoffman Cup Matches, said he “just wanted to keep the  ball in play for Conor,” which he did throughout the day. Playing in Pinehurst format, the team only had four birdies and only one bogey.

RUMSON, N.J. (August 8, 2014) - It took 22 holes and an absolutely unbelievable two-putt birdie for Brent Ito of Ardsley, N.Y. to finally claim victory at the 46th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Rumson Country Club. The 15-year-old never trailed a match the entire championship, but let a 3-up lead slip away in the final match against Christopher Gotterup of Little Silver, N.J.

RUMSON, N.J. (August 8, 2014) - Rumson Junior Club Champion Chris Gotterup of Little Silver, N.J. will meet Brent Ito of Ardsley, N.Y. in the final match in the 46th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Rumson Country Club. Gotterup’s home course advantage has come up big in all of his matches, but he takes on a very tough task against Ito, who has yet to trail in any match he has played.
