MGA Foundation Supporters Enjoy Day of Golf

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 31, 2011) – Over 100 supporters of the MGA Foundation attended the 2011 MGA Foundation Day of Golf on Thursday, May 26, at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn. This was the 17th year of the event, which has become a very special day on the MGA calendar. With more than $80,000 raised in support of the MGA Foundation’s GOLFWORKS Student Intern program, the day was a tremendous success.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 13, 2011) – Faith Garcia of Stamford, Conn., has been selected to attend The First Tee’s 2011 Life Skills and Leadership Academy held at Arizona State University on August 3-9. She will join 96 First Tee participants representing 83 chapters from across the country at this special conference. Garcia, 15, is a sixth-year participant at The First Tee of Metropolitan New York’s Fairchild Wheeler site in Bridgeport, Conn., and will be entering her sophomore year at Trinity Catholic High School in September.

Henry Invitational, a charity-based golf outing to be held at the Patterson Club in Fairfield, Connecticut, on Monday, June 27. Proceeds raised at this event will benefit both the Henry House Foundation and The First Tee of Metropolitan New York.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 9, 2011) – Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y., has been named the host site of the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, scheduled to be played August 11-17. The historic club on Long Island will be hosting the event on the 100th anniversary of the club first hosting the championship in 1914.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 8, 2011)–The entry deadline for the 94th Met Junior Championship, as well as the 43rd MGA/MetLife Boys Championship has been extended. All entries must be in by Thursday, June 9 at 5 p.m.
